A bail review hearing awaits Larry Millete on Nov.4 in Chula Vista Court and Maya’s family pray’s he “has a change of heart” to lead prosecutors to her remains.
The body of the mother of three is still missing. Maya Millete was last seen at her Chula Vista Home on Jan.7, the same day she spoke to a divorce lawyer after at least a year of marital problems with her husband Larry Millete.
"We're praying he'll do it for his kids, that he'll let them know where mommy is," Maya Millete's older sister, Maricris Drouaillet said publicly. "We believe he's not that evil and hopefully he'll have a change of heart."
Larry Millete was arrested on the charge of first-degree murder of his wife and the possession of an illegal assault weapon on Oct. 19 by the Chula Vista police department and a multi-agency team.
Recently, Millete made an appearance in court on Oct. 27 for violations to a criminal protective custody order which prohibits any form of contact with his three children ages 5,10 and 11. Terms of the order instructs Larry to “have no personal, electronic, telephonic, or written contact with the protected persons” and Millet must stay “100 yards away from home, employment, school, [and] vehicle of each protected person.”
A 21 page court motion was filed by Deputy District Attorney Christy Bowles to deny bail, arguing the possibility that Millete may murder the man alleged to be involved in an affair with Maya.
According to the motion titled “People's request to deny bail”, Larry asked a family member if they knew of someone to “get the other guy” and had told May’s brother he “was willing to pay $20,000”.
The identity of the man May alleged to have an affair with remains anonymous.
