The Civic Center and South Chula Vista Branch Libraries are excited to bring back the popular "Lunch at the Library" program for the summer season. From June 7 to June 28, children and teenagers aged 1 to 18 can enjoy free lunches and snacks at these libraries.

In partnership with the Chula Vista Elementary School District and the USDA Summer Food Service Program, the libraries are able to offer these meals to support the local youth during the summer break. It's important to remember that all meals must be consumed on-site.

The program will operate Monday through Friday, providing a reliable source of nutrition for children and teens throughout the week. However, there will be no lunch services on Monday, June 19. Participants are not required to sign up or provide identification.

Free lunches will be served from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., while snacks will be available from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This initiative aims to create a community-oriented space where children and teens can enjoy nutritious meals.

The libraries express their gratitude to the Chula Vista Elementary School District and the USDA Summer Food Service Program for their partnership in making this program possible. Together, they are addressing the issue of childhood hunger in the local community.
