The recent highlight was the generous contribution made by San Diego MLS, as they presented a remarkable $100,000 check to the San Diego Foundation at a gathering held at Modern Times Beer.

Passionate fans of the sport and members of supporter groups from other local professional soccer clubs such as Albion San Diego, San Diego Wave FC, and San Diego Loyal, were present at the event. Mark Stuart, President and CEO of the San Diego Foundation, was also present to witness this special occasion.

Tom Penn, President of San Diego MLS, expressed his joy, saying, "We reached our target quite some time ago and wanted to make this presentation extra special."

"The San Diego Foundation does tremendous good for so many in the community. We stand alongside them on behalf of all of us, as part of our 'Let's Kick It' season ticket deposit campaign, which includes the generous contributions made by each of you and the rest of the community."

On May 20, San Diego MLS hosted its much-anticipated 'Let's Kick It Party' at Snapdragon Stadium, just two days after the thrilling announcement that San Diego had secured the thirtieth spot in Major League Soccer, set to commence play in 2025.

Attendees were treated to an unforgettable experience with captivating music, refreshing beverages, and food. This event also provided valuable insights into upcoming announcements, particularly those concerning the football team itself, including its official name.

The main objective behind San Diego MLS's partnership with the San Diego Foundation is to establish a profound connection with the local community, champion social equality, and pave the way for aspiring young footballers to pursue their dreams. The funds from this generous donation will be dedicated to expanding existing youth football programs, with a special focus on empowering underserved communities across the entirety of San Diego County. The initiative aims to dismantle participation barriers and foster equal opportunities for all children, irrespective of their socioeconomic backgrounds.

Penn further explained, "The original intention was to hold a supportive event. It is truly our sincere privilege, honor, and pleasure to make this inaugural donation of $100,000 to the foundation. And when I say 'inaugural,' it's because there will be many more to come. We have raised far more than $100,000."

The San Diego Foundation is widely recognized for its unwavering commitment to inspiring philanthropy and facilitating community-driven solutions to enhance the quality of life in the region.

Expressing his gratitude, Mark Stuart shared, "We are profoundly grateful for partnerships with esteemed community leaders like San Diego MLS. Their unwavering dedication to nurturing youth development and promoting equality across San Diego County has been a remarkable inspiration."

"By collaboratively working together," Stuart continued, "we will forge a brighter future for our youth, leaving behind a lasting legacy through the beautiful game of football."
