The would-be kidnapper pulled up alongside the child in a white Ford Econoline near the intersection of Hidden Trails Drive and Ocean View Hills Parkway about 7 a.m., complimented her on her looks and offered her money to get into the vehicle, according to the San Diego Police Department.
“The man then got out of the van, and the girl ran away,” SDPD public-affairs Lt. Adam Sharki said.
At that point, the man got back into the vehicle and drove off to the south. He was described as a man in his 40s with a full beard and mustache. He was wearing a black T-shirt, a black hat and sunglasses.
