Southwestern College will host Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week starting on Nov.15 to provide resources, opportunities and essential items for those whose struggles aren't easily seen. Local employers will attend the resource fair on Nov.18 to hire across various majors.
Monday, Nov.15.
Attendees will have the opportunity to have breakfast and learn about student homelessness from SWC peers.

Tuesday, Nov.16.
Students will be assisted by county staff with CalFresh applications. Later in the day, South Bay Community Services will help bring awareness and call for an end to homelessness of young people in the South Bay

Nonperishable Food donations will be made available and mental health resources will be presented in a workshop.

Thursday, Nov.18.
Free food bags, clothing, diapers, and a chance for free gas’s cards for students will be offered. Opportunities to learn about rental assistance programs, community resources, and employment opportunities are also made available.

Pre-cooked Turkey and other fixings will be made available for pick-up. Registration is required at: shorturl.at/suDHV
