San Diego Crime Stoppers is offering an award of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest in the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy during a Chula Vista house party.

Dispatchers received several 9-1-1 calls before 1 a.m. from a female saying someone had been stabbed and that her friend was dying, according to the Chula Vista Police Department. Dispatchers could locate her at a house in the 900 block of Rigley Street and officers responded immediately.

Callers reported seeing several people at the house party with more than 60 people in attendance, many fleeing, and multiple injuries, according to CVPD Sgt. Anthony Molina. Officers responded to the scene within four minutes of the initial call and found a 17-year-old male in the house with at least one stab wound to the torso.

Officers and medics attempted to perform lifesaving measures but were unsuccessful.

A second 17-year-old boy was found unconscious in front of the house with serious injuries to his face and upper body. Witnesses told officers that he was assaulted by several people during a fight.

Officers found a third 17-year-old boy about two blocks away from E. Palomar Street and Medical Center Court who had a stab wound to his torso. Sgt. Molina said the victim was conscious but uncooperative with officers, and it was determined he was connected with the incident.

He was transported to a local hospital for immediate treatment and is currently listed as being in stable condition. According to Sgt. Molina, the names of the victims are withheld due to their age, and the families of these victims have all been notified of their status.

Authorities believe that most in attendance were older teenagers and young adults who possibly learned of the party on social media platforms.

“At some point during the party, a large fight began which involved multiple partygoers.  During the fight, the now deceased 17-year-old victim was stabbed outside and taken into the house by others who tried to save him,” Sgt. Molina wrote in a statement.

The homeowner is believed to have been present during the party and remained on the scene to cooperate with officials.  ā€‹ā€‹

“Police believe there are several witnesses with pertinent information who fled the scene before officers arriving and that there is likely cellphone video or photos that can greatly assist with this investigation.  They are asking witnesses for their help to identify the suspects in this case as well as provide any information that could be useful in the investigation,” Sgt. Molina said.

Witnesses are asked to contact San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477 or submit a tip via P3tips (online or mobile application) http://p3tips.com/409 if they wish to remain anonymous.
