The San Diego Filipino Community, in collaboration with the Asian Pacific Islander Initiative, is preparing for the highly anticipated 3rd Annual Filipino American Friendship Festival. The festival will take place at NTC Park in Liberty Station (2455 Cushing Road, San Diego) on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 11am to 6pm. This event aims to honor the historical significance of Filipino American Friendship Day and strengthen the enduring bond between the Philippines and the United States.

Filipino American Friendship Day commemorates the day the Philippines gained independence from United States governance on July 4th, 1946. This annual holiday celebrates the positive and strong relationship between the two nations, highlighting their shared cultural heritage and camaraderie.

Attendees can immerse themselves in a cultural feast with over 70 vendors offering a variety of Filipino food, merchandise, artwork, community-based organizations, and live entertainment. Indulging in over 100 types of delectable Filipino desserts, including shaved ice, ube crinkle cookies, halo-halo, and lumpia, will be a treat for the taste buds. An exciting highlight of the festival will be the attempt to host the largest electric slide in San Diego, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone.
