The San Diego Sockers are back in action in front of a local attendance this weekend for the Ron Newman Cup.
The Sockers will host the Chihuahua Savage at the Pachenga Arena for their home opener this Sunday, entering a new year after reigning themselves as champions of the Major Arena Soccer league the previous season.
Before the game takes place Sunday night, the San Diego Sockers are expected to unveil their new banner that represents the club's 15th professional indoor soccer title.
The MASL is set to return to its full game schedule of 24 matches per season, with each weekly match up included in an official schedule that is expected to be released in a few weeks.
Major Arena Soccer League was founded over a decade ago in 2018, and quickly became the highest level of arena soccer competition throughout North America, where teams play the game of soccer from coast to coast, from Mexico and in the United States.
Sunday night's banner presentation will be a joyful moment for followers of The San Diego Sockers, who at this moment stand alone on top of the league with the most championships by any of its active arena soccer teams.
Tickets to attend Sunday evening's soccer match are now on sale to the public, available for sale without any fees by calling 866-799-4625, or reaching out via email at Marybeth@sdsockers.com.
