The insanely popular heavy-metal band Slipknot is going on a 2022 tour that includes the city of Chula Vista.
On Tuesday, the legendary band confirmed its tour dates and destinations, making their loyal fan base in San Diego happy seeing their hometown on the list.
The band will be kicking off "Knotfest Roadshow" as headliners for the two-part gig in the spring, where they will be accompanied by In "This Moment" and "Jinger" for the first leg of the 38-date journey, and hip-hop group Cypress Hill and Ho99o9 on the second half of the trek.
The first part of the tour goes underway on march 16 at the FargoDome in North Dakota, and eventually concluding at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver on April 17. Then, the Roadshow restarts one month later on May 18 at the Bryce Jordan Center in Philadelphia, and will conclude exactly one month after on June 18 at the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista.
Lead vocalist for Slipknot Corey Taylor says that they are excited to get back to performing for fans throughout the country. Taylor had tested positive for COVID-19 last year during the summer, a time period where he says was the most ill he has ever felt in his 48 years of life.
“Even with everything going on in the world right now, we’re still extremely excited to come back out in the states,” Slipknot's Corey Taylor said in a statement.
“This is the worst I’ve ever been sick in my life; had I not been vaccinated, I shudder to think how bad it would’ve been,” he said. “But, because I had that extra little bit of protection, it definitely helped me get through it. So go, go, go. If you’re still on the fence, I’m telling you right now, it’s the best thing you can do for yourself.” he added.
Tickets for the Knotfest Roadshow 2022 will go on sale starting this Friday, January 21.
