The Chula Vista Police Department announced open positions for police dispatchers to work alongside officers in serving the community. 

All employees at the CVPD must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to employment, but are subject to limited exemptions. The role of dispatchers is to receive, evaluate and transmit emergency and routine voice radio messages via telephone, teletype and automatic alarm. 

Another part of the job is to send required equipment in accordance with standard policies, procedures; to maintain records; and complete related work as required. The City’s website lists a Police Dispatcher Trainee or at a Police Dispatcher level and candidates will be placed in either series based on an evaluation. According to the city, If hired at the Police Dispatcher Trainee level, movement to the Police Dispatcher level is neither implied nor guaranteed.
