The City of Chula Vista calls for approximately 300 volunteers to register for the 18th annual Beautify Chula Vista Day Neighborhood cleanup on Oct.23 from 8:30 a.m to noon with the option to participate in two locations.
Volunteers may participate in beautification activities at Marina View Park located at 900 Marina Parkway, or Discovery Park, located at 700 Buena Vista Way. The event is hosted by Mayor Mary Casillas Salas and the City council partnered with South Bay Sustainable Communities Network to gather volunteers to participate in removing graffiti, assist with landscaping and mulching, and clearing tons of litter from the streets, canyons.
Volunteers are advised to wear clothing and shoes suitable for beautification activities, bring work gloves, a refillable water bottle, and snacks or a lunch. Volunteers must provide their own transportation.
COVID-19 protocols will be required for this outdoor event. Volunteers are encouraged to stay home if they feel sick or have any COVID related symptom the time leading up to the event. Six feet of physical distance from the non-household members will be required. Masks are recommended for volunteers if/when they are within six feet of non-household members.
