“Summer Movies in the Park” will kick off this weekend on Friday, May 26, and Saturday, May 27 at Waterfront Park in commemoration of Memorial Day!
The movie chosen for this Friday is the animated and acclaimed comedy “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”, which will start at dusk. So don’t forget to bring your cozy clothes, blankets, snacks, and friends to enjoy a cinematic night under the stars.
This fun event will last every weekend starting from its inauguration, May 26, until its closing day on October 28.
The county has announced, through a release, that they will be screening more than 150 movies, with special themed nights such as Juneteenth (June 16-17), Comic-Con (July 21-22), Ladies Night (August 12), International Dog Day (August 25-26), Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15), and Halloween (late October).
You can enjoy a variety of movies on the big screen, including animated films like "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," " DC League of Super Pets," "The Incredibles" and "Minions: The Rise of Gru." For those who love action flicks, "Top Gun: Maverick" "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," and"Ant-man and The Wasp: Quantumania" are great options. Classic film lovers can also catch beloved movies such as"Angels in the Outfield," The Goonies," "The Sandlot" "Cool Runnings," "Free Willy,""Hook," and "ET The Extra-Terrestrial" at various locations.

“Summer Movies in the Park” Celebrates its 16th anniversary this summer. It started in 2007 as a way to encourage people to visit local parks at a free and safe event. Over the years the program has evolved and gained more recognition for its accessibility and inclusion.
