California wildfires said three adults were uninjured after a small private plane went down Saturday afternoon about six miles east of El Capitan in the mountains east of the county.
The Sheriff's Department reported that the incident occurred on Boulder Creek Rd. about six miles east of El Capitan Reservoir around 4 p.m. The sheriff and firefighters from forest firefighters or CalFire arrived at the scene.
Lt. Joe Barry said authorities found out because a witness called 9:09 p.m. Saturday and told the sheriff the plane went down near Ramona.
This Sunday, both the sheriff and CalFire will investigate why the plane collapsed.
