Dominick Cruz is returning to action in San Diego for a big night of UFC in America's Finest City.

The UFC confirms that it will be coming back to San Diego for a night of mixed martial arts next month on Saturday, August 13, at the Pechanga Arena on Sports Arena Blvd.

This is the first time UFC holds a fight night in San Diego since 2015, bringing an event that will headline a top bantamweight battle between No.5 ranked Marlon Vera and the hometown former champion and No. 8 ranked Dominick Cruz.

Marlon Vera, out of Chone, Ecuador, will be partaking in his second straight UFC main event in this fight. Vera is known for holding the record for the most finishes in the history of UFC's bantamweight division, which includes big wins against big names such as former champion Frankie Edgar, Sean O’Malley and Brad Pickett. And a win against Dominick Cruz would only enhance his name in UFC''s title picture even more.

As for the hometown star, Dominick Cruz wants to make a statement in his city by taking out the emerging Ecuadorean switch fighter. Cruz is widely-recognized for having one of the most one-of-a-kind fighting style in mixed martial arts, cementing himself as one of the greatest to ever fight at the 135-pound level. The former UFC and WEC bantamweight champion is aiming at deflating Vera's emerging streak in front of his hometown crowd.

Additional contests on the card include the following:
