Third Avenue Village will host an inaugural Día De Los Muertos Celebration on Oct. 29 to celebrate the Mexican tradition of honoring loved ones who have passed.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m and will run until 9:30 p.m and will include elements such as La Ofrenda. This ticketed portion includes a variety of tastes and samples of local restaurants and businesses. There will be live musical performances featuring the B-Side players.

Guests who purchase a $25 ticket will receive special discounts that will be available throughout the night. Young ones can stroll as Little Catrinos and Catrinas and collect goodies in a free and family- friendly option, "Treats & Sweets".

Guests are encouraged to dress up in full Catrina costume or put their own fun and modern spin to the traditional look. Various photo opportunities will be made available at photo spots hosted by the Third Avenue Village.

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is traditionally celebrated on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 as an observance of the Catholic celebrations of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day. The context of this celebration is to solemnly mourn annually loved ones that have passed. The multi-day holiday brings together family and community through food, and joyful gatherings. This is an opportunity to remember the deceased and the anecdotes they shared.

For this celebration Third Avenue Village welcomes community members to bring a photo of a deceased loved one to honor them at the community "Altar de Muertos" table, located on the corner of Third and Davidson.
