San Diego County public offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day, the County Communications Office announced. The closure includes family resource centers, libraries, and animal shelters, though essential services will remain available.

“Law enforcement, emergency animal control response, and other critical services will be available during the holiday,” the county stated in a release signed by Yvette Urrea Moe.

Parks, campgrounds, and day-use areas will remain open as usual; however, activities at certain community facilities will be suspended. Among the sites closing their doors are the Fallbrook, Lakeside, and Spring Valley community centers, the Spring Valley gymnasium, the Valley Center community hall, the 4S Ranch recreation office, the Adams Park pool, and the teen community centers.

The Department of Parks and Recreation reminded residents that camping reservations can be made anytime through the official website, though the reservation phone line will not be available during the holiday.

In addition, all county public health clinics will be closed Monday and will resume normal service on Tuesday, September 2, when administrative offices will also reopen.
