A 16-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to the head in National City and police say his wounds are considered non-survivable.
National City Police Officers received a call of gunfire shortly after 9 p.m. near the intersection of East 16th Street and Euclid Avenue. Officers located the boy, whose identity remains unreleased out of respect for the family, and was immediately sent to a local trauma center,” Sgt. Vincent Fernando said.
Sgt. Fernando said the boy is currently on life support.
“His injuries is considered non-survivable," Fernando said.
Witnesses saw the three suspects fleeing the scene heading east on East 16th Street after the incident, police later learned. A suspect description is not immediately available, but police seek information from the public to help locate these individuals.
The investigation is still ongoing.
