An earthquake surprised Californians living in some parts of San Diego County earlier this evening.
At approximately 7:19 p.m on Wednesday night, an earthquake struck near the Anza area that was then followed by a 2.6 magnitude quake in La Quinta shortly after, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The first quake was reported in Anza at around 7:19 p.m. Seconds later, the 2.9 quake that was felt near La Quinta was then reported.
Neighborhoods in San Diego felt light to moderate shakes due to these earthquakes Monday night, including San Marcos and the San Carlos area.
