Last week, AT&T worker, Joey Ryan sustained severe injuries after being struck by a car on Nov. 3.
While working for AT&T, he stood behind his truck in a parking lane when a Toyota Camry left the travel lane and sped into the back of the truck, eventually pinning him under the car. According to authorities, the incident occurred just before 11 a.m on the 500 block of C Street near Date Avenue.
Both legs were amputated above the knee upon impact and he will require long-term care. Joey’s family is fundraising to pay for his medical expenses. As of Saturday morning, the fundraiser is more than half way to their goal of $50,000.
The 28 year old driver of the sedan has not been publicly identified. No drugs or alcohol are believed to be involved according to authorities.
