A man with developmental disabilities was found on Saturday evening weeks after Chula Vista Police announced his disappearance.
Loren Hobrock, 51, was found by a concerned citizen in Rucco Park near Seaport Village, according to police. He has since then been reunited with his family and is safe.
He had been missing since Aug. 28 at approximately 2:30 p.m. when he walked away from an independent living facility in the 300 Block of Corte Maria Avenue in Chula Vista. According to police, an employee of the facility followed him for a short while but lost sight of him near the intersection of Fourth Avenue and C Street in Chula Vista.
He did not have his phone or his wallet.
Police considered Hobrock at risk for a combination of reasons, including medical conditions that require medication and a unique developmental disability, classified as an eating disorder, called Prader Willi Syndrome.
Search efforts were conducted by the Chula Vista and National City Police, and family members, who asked the public to help locate his whereabouts.
