After responding to a burglar alarm, authorities discovered a commercial structure ignited in flames early Wednesday morning at a retail center in the heart of Chula Vista.  

The Chula Vista Police Department responded to a burglar alarm at 320 Third Avenue in downtown Chula Vista at approximately 3:41 a.m. when they discovered an exterior fire at the retail center. The Chula Vista Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the flames, but not before the fire went into a business, OnScene T.V. reported. 

According to CVFD Battalion Chief Brendon Barahura, the fire damaged two businesses and two other businesses sustained smoke damage.  

The CVFD Fire Investigators are investigating the cause of the fire. 

Authorities have not yet found anyone suspected of the fire, and no injuries were reported.
