California Women Lead is hosting a post-election informative panel discussion with past, current, and future state and local leaders about the appointment process.
The in-person training event and networking session will take place at the University Club at 750 B St. Suite #3400 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The panel includes women who navigated these processes and will give insight on how to get appointed.
San Diego County Supervisor Nora Vargas, San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Vice President Stefanie Benvenuto, and San Diego City Director of Appointments of Boards/Commissions Chida Warren-Darby will speak on the pannel.
Attendees will be given the opportunity to ask panelists questions regarding their experience, expertise, and opportunities to become a political appointee on a local or statewide board/commission.
According to event organizers, proof of COVID-19 vaccination in the form of the original card, a photo, or through a QR code provided by public health is required upon arrival. A negative test will not be acceptable for entry.
The event comes after the June 7 Gubernatorial Primary Election. The Registrar sent over 1.8 million reminder postcards to registered voters in San Diego County who had not voted as of May 20. San Diego voters can find a complete list of vote center and ballot drop box locations at sdvote.com.
