The Chula Vista Public Library will be celebrating Día del Niño (Children's Day) with grant money from the California State Library and invite the community to participate.
Día del Niño is a multicultural celebration that promotes literacy, culture, language, and books in multicultural and multilingual communities.
The free celebration includes two special bilingual storytimes in Spanish/English and Tagalog/English. On April 25, a Spanish/English storytime will be held at the Civic Center Branch Library, 365 F Street, at 11 a.m.
A bilingual Tagalog/English celebration of Día del Niño will be on April 26 at the Otay Ranch Branch Library, 2015 Birch Road, Suite 209, at 10:15 a.m, where stories, songs, games, and crafts are available for children.
A Día del Niño celebration will be at Orange Park, 341 Orange Avenue, on April 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with bilingual Spanish/English author/illustrator presentation, crafts, games, and more. Award-winning author Beatrice Zamora and Illustrator Berenice Badillo will read and present their latest book, "Am I Blue or Am I Green? / Azul o verde. ¿Cuál soy yo?."
