The Chula Vista Fire Department deployed six personnel to assist in the San Bernardino area as a part of state-wide rescue efforts to help those snowed in by recent storms, the department announced.
The CVPD deployed Battalion Chief Bahaura to serve as a Safety Officer; Battalion Chief Czapinski to serve as a Division/Group Supervisor; Captain Nealson as a Medical Unit Leader, Engineer Egan as a Public Information Officer, FFPM Ornelas as a Fireline Paramedic and FFEMT Folker as a Heavy Equipment Boss.
“Our personnel have responded to fill a diverse array of assignments on this incident, as you can tell by the roster below. We’re proud of the work they are doing above & beyond their normal assignments, and we look forward to their safe return!” the department wrote in a statement.
According to the department, the deployed personnel are helping to dig out and rehabilitate critical infrastructure and roads to get food, medical supplies, and other items to residents in and around these local mountain ranges.
