Authorities call on the public to report information leading to the arrest in a weekend shooting of a San Diego man who arrived at Scripps Mercy Hospital in Chula Vista.
The victim was identified as 32-year-old Rudy Fimbres, who died of gunshot wounds after hospital staff attempted lifesaving measures, according to Chula Vista Police Department Sgt. Anthony Molina.
Fimbres “is believed to have been transient and living in the south bay area of Chula Vista and San Diego,” Sgt. Molina said. Police say several witnesses told police that a late-model white jeep patriot with black rims dropped Fimbres off at the hospital.
San Diego Crime Stoppers is offering a financial incentive of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477, or anonymously submit a tip via online or mobile application at http://p3tips.com/409.
