In-person instruction increases by 60 percent for this upcoming spring semester at Southwestern College as they begin to offer a mix of hybrid, online and remote courses.
All employees and students who plan to register for in-person instruction must be vaccinated against COVID-19 before the spring semester commences on Jan. 31. The existing Indoor masking policy, along with all current health and safety guidelines will remain.
“The Southwestern College community, including our employees and students, has done an excellent job with our phased return and following our health and safety protocols,” said Superintendent/President Dr. Mark Sanchez. “I am so proud of the work everyone has done to keep us safe and because of their excellent commitment, we are able to increase our in-person classes and help get students back into the classroom to meet their educational goals.”
According to the college, students who register for in-person classes and have not documented their vaccine status will be instructed on how to do so before the beginning of the semester. Those who qualify for exemptions will conduct regular testing on the Chula Vista campus in Student Union East.
