Hospitalizations relating to COVID-19 in San Diego County continue to fall.
According to the latest state data, hospitalizations in the county have dropped from 346 on Saturday to 314 on Sunday. Of those hospitalizations, those in intensive care decreased by six to 61 patients.
As of Sunday, there are 207 available ICU beds.
​​On Friday, the county reported 781 new COVID-19 COVID-19 cases, and 12 additional deaths associated with the virus, bringing its cumulative totals to 740,716 cases and 5,068 deaths since the pandemic began.
According to the agency, there are a total of 1,169,223 San Diego County residents who are fully vaccinated have received a booster shot.
There are 2.93 million San Diego County residents ages 5 and older who are at least partially vaccinated and more than 2.57 million are fully vaccinated.
Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) categorized out community transmission levels as being “low” in the agency’s most updated data.
With the improvement of San Diego’s risk levels, San Diego Unified announced students and staff may return to campus without a mask beginning April 4.
Sweetwater Union High School district and other local districts are yet to announce their decision.
