San Diego firefighters rescued three people who fell from the top of the border wall.

The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said it had rescued people who fell from the 30-foot-high wall on Wednesday.

People fell in the Otay area at the end of Cactus Street, directly across from Lindberg Field Executive Airport.

In response to an emergency phone call, rescuers helped two people taken by ambulance to a hospital and another airlifted because of his condition.

The Fire Department did not identify the victims or provide specific information about their injuries.

The wall is a series of 30-foot-high, sand-filled, parallel-laid metal pillars that replaced the area's old ten-foot-high wall made of sheet steel.

The border patrol also did not identify the injured people.
