The San Diego Zoo and Safari Park will be admitting youth 11 years and younger for free throughout October, officials announced recently.

Tickets will not be required for up to five youngsters 11 and younger when accompanied by an adult aged 18 and older with a valid form of admission. The promotion begins Oct.1 and will be effective throughout the month.

“It's a great time of year to enjoy the wonders of nature and discover the wildlife of all sizes, shapes, and types. There's so much to experience within the Zoo's 100 acres—join the fun!,” the Zoo’s website reads.

Children ages two and younger already have free admission to the San Diego Zoo. Anyone under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult during the Zoo and Safari Park.

The annual promotion will be held in honor of the Zoo’s founding.

October Kids Free entrance includes the Africa Tram at the Safari park, Kangaro Bus, and the Safari aerial tram at the Zoo. The park notes these free attractions are subject to availability.

During Kids Free month, a 4D Theater add-on is available at the Zoo for additional cost for ages 3 and older and can be purchased at any ticket window upon arrival.
