A 43-year-old man riding a blue motor scooter was killed Sunday night when he fell off his bike and was run over by a heavy vehicle in the Otay Border Area.
The crash was reported after 8 p.m. on Sunday in the 1900 block of La Media Road, according to San Diego Police officer John Buttle.
The rider was traveling north on La Media when he fell from the scooter. A semi-truck ran over him after falling off the scooter and continued north.
According to authorities, the man sustained a skull fracture and multiple rib fractures. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
