A man was sentenced to 175 years to life in state prison for raping two women at knifepoint in Pacific Beach and Otay Mesa.

A jury sentenced 22-year-old Seth Alan Roberts earlier this year to seven felony counts, including two forcible rape counts spanning a week apart when he was 18. The Jury also charged Roberts, who is originally from Oklahoma, for raping his former girlfriend at a Bonita campground after traveling from their home state, but jurors acquitted him of that rape count related to her.

Deputy District Attorney Judy Taschner told jurors that Roberts met one victim in Pacific Beach, lured her into an alleyway, and raped her at knifepoint. About a week later, Roberts met a young woman at a trolley station in Chula Visa and exchanged numbers.

Prosecutors said he met with the young woman at her South Bay home, where he raped her in her bedroom at knifepoint.

Roberts was arrested on Dec. 5. 2018 at his home in Chula Vista.
