While we wait for these votes, please accept my deepest gratitude to the countless volunteers who waved signs on corners, stood at Costco with signs and spoke to customers about our campaign, supporters who walked door to door daily, our phone bank and texting volunteers, and the over 1,000 houses that allowed us to place a sign in your yard, or a banner on your balcony,” McCann wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

Campa-Najjar took to Facebook on Friday to thank the city of Chula Vista.

”Thank you, Chula Vista. Honored to have the opportunity to run in my hometown. A place that taught me to dream, for the people I love, and community that lifted me up. To all the young people who were inspired to work on a campaign for the first time, thank you for being my source of hope,” Campa-Najjar wrote.

The San Diego County Registrar of Voters reported a 33.7% voter turnout.

The next unofficial results update is expected by 5 p.m. on Nov.11 and 12. The election results will additionally be updated by 5 p.m. Nov. 14 through Nov. 18.

Voter turnout percentage will increase as timely and validly cast ballots, including mail and provisional ballots, are added to the count, according to the County Registrar of voters. All mail ballots postmarked on Election Day and received by the Registrar’s office by November 15 will be considered timely cast.

All results are unofficial until completion of the official canvass of the election on or before Dec. 8.
