No injuries were reported after a military helicopter and a civilian helicopter collided mid-air Tuesday evening at the Brown Field Municipal Airport in Otay Mesa.
The incident took place at around 5;50 p.m, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, when an MH-60R Sea Hawk Navy helicopter and a civilian Sikorsky UH-60A helicopter collided.
The Navy helicopter, which is assigned to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 41 at Naval Air Station North Island, was conducting night training when the collision occured, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. According to the FAA, both pilots landed safely after the crash.
The incident is under investigation by FAA officials.
