A man was hospitalized Thursday morning after being ejected from his motorcycle in a high-speed solo collision while transitioning from northbound Interstate 5 to State Route 54. 

The incident occurred around 10:54 a.m. on the transition road on northbound I-5 and SR 54, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Robert Holtz told OnScene T.V. 

According to OnScene T.V. motorcyclist hit the wall on the over-crossing, and was ejected off the motorcycle, plunging up to 80 ft down to the Trolley tracks below. 

Witnesses reported seeing the man drive over 100 mph during the time of the collision. According to Holtz, paramedics were able to transport the man to the hospital. 

The man suffered life-threatening injuries, according to Onscene T.V. There is no further information about his condition or whether he is expected to live. 

The incident is under investigation by CHP. 

“I just want to remind people it's a holiday weekend. Please drive safe and wear your seatbelts,” Holtz said.
