The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System announced it would be increasing Trolley services ahead of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross event on Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium.
According to an MTS press release, the event is expected to draw in 25,000 off-road motorcycle racing fans on Jan.21. Snapdragon gates will open to the public at noon for practice and qualifying runs.
Monster AMA Supercross will feature a fan fest pit party from noon to 6 p.m.
Fans using trolley services are encouraged to purchase and download trolley passes ahead of time on the PRONTO app. Trolley services will be increased to accommodate large crowds, according to MTS.
“Event attendees are encouraged to forget about traffic and parking jams, and enjoy Monster Jam by taking the Green Line Trolley to Stadium Station,” MTS officials wrote in a statement.
Regular Green Line service will be operating every 15 minutes westbound (to 12th & Imperial) and eastbound every 15 minutes to SDSU and every 30 minutes beyond SDSU. Extra trains will be available to provide additional trips as necessary.
On weekends, two children 12 and under ride for free with every paying adult. Youths ages 18 and under with a registered Youth PRONTO card or app account can ride free with the Youth Opportunity Pass.
Dozens of transit centers allow thousands of free parking spots when taking the Trolley to Snapdragon. See a full list of Park & Ride lots and the number of spaces available.
