The North Island Credit Union is offering scholarships to college-bound students and community college students scholarships through its 2023 Student Scholarship Program.
The credit union awards $1,000 to 20 students in San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties every year, to annually recognize students who are motivated in their academic studies and who are active in their schools and communities.
ââ“We’re committed to investing in our next generation of leaders and encourage local students to apply for one of our scholarships,” said North Island Credit Union CEO Steve O’Connell. “We know the costs of higher education have continued to rise and pursuing educational dreams can be a challenge for many. We hope our scholarships make the path to college a little easier and look forward to reviewing the many stories of inspiration in our scholarship applications.”
High school seniors and community college students transferring to a four-year university who maintain a grade point average of 3.0 are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Selection criteria include academic performance, school or community involvement, a letter of recommendation, and an essay submission.
Interested students can find more information and apply online at northisland.ccu.com/studentscholarship. Online applications will be accepted through March 10, 2023.
Recipients will be announced on Monday, April 3, 2023.
