A Chula Vista Brewery was selected to be a part of a global expansion program alongside 14 other businesses for additional support, resources, and networking opportunities.
Novo Brazil Brewing company secured a spot in the sixth cohort of MetroConnect, a flagship program with the World Trade Center San Diego for businesses seeking global expansion. Only 15 companies were selected out of a pool with hundreds of applicants for the program.
Novo Brazil was the single brewery on this year’s list.
“Since one of Novo’s most important goals is to increase its international presence, the company decided to apply for the program in pursuit of the incredible benefits and networking capabilities that it will provide,” Novo Brazil’s owner and founder, Tiago Carneiro, said in a statement. “We are thrilled about this opportunity.”
They were selected alongside 14 other small to medium-sized companies.
The company has established its presence in 12 countries last year, including Japan, Guam, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, Slovenia, and Croatia.
This coming year, the company plans to continue growing sales, continue its global expansion, and launch in Australia.
MetroConnect has helped the 80 small-and-medium-sized companies collectively add 269 new regional jobs, signed more than 542 new contracts, and set up 22 new overseas facilities since 2015.
The program has aided cohort companies to grow their exports by an average of 63 percent, and revenues by 40 percent.
Notable alums of the program include Blue Sky Network, Aira (acquired by Blue Diego Investment Group), Scientist.com, Modern Times, Dr. Bronner’s, Cypher Genomics (acquired by Human Longevity Inc.), Planck Aerosystems, Bitchin’ Sauce, and dozens more.
