The Otay Ranch Town Center is hosting its annual “Dog Gone Fun” event to celebrate canine companions on July 26 during the regular weekly Farmers Market.
The event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Otay Ranch Town Center, and residents can now register for the free Doggie Costume Contest. The contest will feature prizes and awards for various categories including funniest and best overall costume, along with the most talented dog.
According to event organizers, dog owners can pre-register their dogs in advance online up through noon on July 26, but space is limited.
In addition to the costume contest at 6 p.m., guests can participate in the following:
- Doggie treats (while supplies last)
- Complimentary canine fitness/weight evaluation from Dr. Kevin Anderson DVM, MPH, DACVPM of Otay Pet Vets Premier Veterinary Hospital — Get a recommendation on how to get your furry friend in tip-top summertime shape!
- Get a chance to meet "Barry Allen," a 50-pound turtle and other unique exotic pets and meet Dr. Theresa Murillo DVM of Otay Pet Vets Premier Veterinary Hospital about proper care techniques for exotics.
- Expert dog training tips and demonstrations from Golden State Service Dogs — Including simple and fun commands the whole family can master!
- Free "Pup Cup" treat station for your dog
- Free crafts for kids and more!
