San Diego County’s first Holocaust exhibit “Ruth: Remember Us The Holocaust” just opened at the Chula Vista Heritage Museum.
The exhibit documents the lives of Holocaust survivors that settled in the South Bay and will run through August 2022. The exhibit will have monthly activities which feature speakers about the Holocaust, documentaries, featured books, and activities.
Exhibit curator and Holocaust educator, Sandra Scheller, gives personal tours of the exhibit, which features Ruth Sax, a Holocaust survivor, and mother to Sandra.
Sax was honored as Women of the Year in San Diego, Inducted into the San Diego Women’s Hall of Fame, honored as a Woman of Valor in San Diego County, and received an honorary degree from Southwestern College as a humanitarian and educator.
According to the exhibit’s webpage, Ruth dreamed of having a Holocaust museum in the South Bay.
