The Chula Vista Police Department arrested a suspect of a murder investigation in San Bernardino County early Tuesday morning.
Chula Vista Police Officers patrolling near the Sweetwater River at around 4:45 A.M. received an alert from an Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system, that an unoccupied parked vehicle at the Motel 6, 745 E Street belonged to 40-year-old murder suspect Daniella Hess Prieto.
The device confirmed the vehicle belonged to Hess Prieto, who is suspected of fatally shooting a 56-year-old man in the high-desert community of Wonder Valley, according to CVPD Sgt. Anthony Molina. The suspect was believed to be armed and dangerous.
The department’s SWAT Team arrived at the scene and made contact with the suspect at around 9 A.M., and was taken into custody without incident.
