The San Diego County Public Defender Office is accepting nominations for consideration in the fourth annual 25 Most Remarkable Teens award.

Anyone may nominate a teen through Sept. 15 to recognize their accomplishments or contributions to the community. An online application lists 25 categories including activism, civic involvement, commitment to personal excellence, and courage to overcome adversity.

San Diego County youth ages 13 to 19 are eligible for nomination, and all nominees will receive a certificate of recognition for the honor of being nominated.

Last year, the Public Defender’s office recognized Jonathan Eppert,18, a senior from Hilltop High School, and Xiomara Villarreal-Gerardo, a 19-year-old graduate of Eastlake High School on Nov.10 in the areas of Personal Determination and Journalism respectively.

The completed nomination form can be emailed to connie.howard@sdcounty.ca.gov or can be mailed to Connie Howard, San Diego County Public Defender Youth Council, 451 A St., Suite 1480, San Diego, CA 92101.
