The San Diego Humane Society (SDHS) calls for broad community support in their annual Day of Giving to support life-saving programs for animals in need throughout the region.

The annual fundraising event will take place on June 30 to help fund safe shelters, life-saving veterinary care, protection from abuse and neglect, rescue during an emergency, and many more services provided to animals in the region. The funds will also support the SDHS’s work at shelters in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona, and San Diego.

According to the SDHS, more than a dozen donors are joining forces to match all donations received before 11:59 p.m for up to $250,000.

“With this match in place, every dollar given to San Diego Humane Society is worth twice as much and will allow us to help more animals and the people who love them,” said Brian Daugherty, SVP & Chief of Philanthropy & Communications at San Diego Humane Society. “Whether stray pets, injured or orphaned wildlife, or animals rescued from dangerous environments, Day of Giving is designed to inspire compassion in our community and create a more humane San Diego for all animals.”

The Humane Society said there are many ways the community can support during a Day of Giving:
