The San Diego police seek the public’s help in identifying the man responsible for the 2019 fatal shooting of a member of the U.S. Navy at a Logan Heights party.
Lamonte R. Stevenson was 19 years old when he was shot and killed on Aug.17, 2019, around 12:50 a.m, in a house on Marcy Avenue near Kearney Avenue. Authorities said he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to detectives, Stevenson attempted to break up a physical altercation between his friend and an unknown man. In that scuffle, the Stevenson was shot multiple times by an unknown man.
Authorities said that the suspect, an unknown Black man, pointed a handgun at Stevenson and shot him multiple times. The suspect immediately fled the scene.
San Diego County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest in this case. Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is offering an additional $1,000 reward with a total reward of $2,000 for this case.
