The San Diego County’s Public Defender Randy Mize’s office is seeking nominations for its fourth annual “25 Most Remarkable Teens” program.
The program aims to recognize teens for their accomplishments or contributions to the community. Anyone may nominate San Diego County residents between 13 to 19 years old through Sept.12.
An online application lists 25 categories including activism, civic involvement, commitment to personal excellence, and courage to overcome adversity. All nominees will receive a certificate of recognition for the honor of being nominated.
A ceremony will take place in the Shiley Special Event Suite atop the San Diego Central Library on Nov.10 to honor the selected nominees.
Last year, Mize’s office recognized Jonathan Eppert,18, a senior from Hilltop High School, and Xiomara Villarreal-Gerardo, a 19-year-old graduate of Eastlake High School on Nov.10 in the areas of Personal Determination and Journalism respectively.
The completed nomination form can be emailed to connie.howard@sdcounty.ca.gov or can be mailed to Connie Howard, San Diego County Public Defender Youth Council, 451 A St., Suite 1480, San Diego, CA 92101.
