The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) highlights tax benefits and resources from the Small Business Administration (SBA) during National Small Business Week, from May 1 through May 7,  to small businesses that played a pivotal role in the nation’s economy.

This ties into SBA’s theme for this year’s celebration, “Building a Better America through Entrepreneurship,” a four-day virtual summit that acknowledges the nation’s 32.5 million small businesses and SBA partners’ involvement in overall support for small businesses and entrepreneurship.

“National Small Business Week is a time to honor and celebrate America’s entrepreneurs and innovative startups. This year’s theme, ‘Building a Better America through Entrepreneurship,’ celebrates the resiliency and tenacity of America’s entrepreneurs who are doing their part to power our nation’s historic economic comeback,” said Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the voice for America’s 32.5 million small businesses in President Biden’s Cabinet.

The virtual summit will be held from May 2 through May 5, and co-hosted by SCORE, to honor small businesses for their perseverance. SBA’s webpage to register for the virtual summit, features access to critical federal resources, educational workshops, and networking.

“We look forward to joining the SBA in co-hosting this important virtual summit during National Small Business Week,” said SCORE CEO Bridget Weston. “For anyone thinking about starting or growing a small business, this event will connect entrepreneurs with a wealth of industry experts and crucial information to help them achieve success.”

Free resources are available through the IRS for those who are looking to start a business. Taxpayers who are owners or prospective owners of small businesses are encouraged to visit the IRS website to access resources, workshops, and educational materials.
