Flames broke out near the edge of the Otay Valley Regional Park in Chula Vista on Nov.1 in an area with acres of vegetation.
Fire personnel were seen extinguishing flames with water near Otay River at 346 Main street. The area is surrounded by thick vegetation with winds that had the potential to spread the fire.
A tree was ignited at approximately 4:10 pm which crew members attempted to extinguish.
No injuries were reported by fire personnel.
