Southwestern College Dreamer Center will celebrate on Wednesday its fourth year of supporting undocumented students inside and outside the classroom
The four-year anniversary celebration begins at 12 p.m., through 2 p.m. at the Chula Vista Campus Room: 26-120. Student recognitions will include 2022 graduates, SWC Dream Grants, and scholarship recipients.
Those who are interested in attending are asked to register online. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet staff members at the center.
The SWC Dreamer Center connects students of all backgrounds as a central point of contact for resources inside and outside the classroom. Students who are undocumented, recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), or Assembly Bill 540, have been connected to resources through the SWC Dreamer Center.
SWC celebrated the opening of its Dreamer Center on April 25, 2019, made possible through a $125,000 grant from The California Campus Catalyst Fund, enabling the creation of more resources for undocumented students. Additional support was provided by the Southwestern College Foundation.
Visit the SWC Dreamer Center Website for more information on the services, programs, and resources available to students and their families. For immediate assistance, email agarcia4@swccd.edu or leave a voicemail at (619) 482-6435.
