The man who allegedly fatally stabbed another man to death outside a Chula Vista apartment complex was arrested today after disappearing and remained at large for two years. 

According to the Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD) Raymond William Lynde, 30, was captured by members of the U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force at the San Ysidro Port of Entry on Wednesday. 

Authorities suspect Lynde of fatally stabbing  23-year-old Ariel Burquez in the 200 block of Rancho Drive on the evening of July 18, 2020, CVPD Sgt. Anthony Molina said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Authorities believed Lynde fled to Mexico after the assault. 

A motive has not been disclosed for the slaying. Police have not revealed a relationship between the suspect and the victim. 

Lynde is being held at San Diego Central Jail without bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Friday afternoon.
