Chula Vista Police responded to several 911 calls on Sunday and found a group of people administering first aid to a 43 year old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.

According to authorities, he was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition. His injuries are not considered life threatening.

Around noon, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the leg after an argument broke out on the porch of a residence near Casselman Street and Monte Vista Avenue. Authorities said the victim knows the 39 year old suspect, but is not “being very cooperative” with investigators.

The shooter fled the scene in an unknown vehicle and remains at large.

This case is currently under investigation by the Chula Vista Police Department’s Crimes of Violence Unit. Anyone with information are asked to contact the Chula Vista Police Department or San Diego County Crime Stoppers, 888-580-8477.
