The greatest football player to ever put on a pair of cleats is retiring after 22 seasons as an NFL quarterback.
The news was announced this morning, where it was reported that Brady, 44, spent this week digesting his potential retirement process after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Los Angeles Rams last weekend.
According to reports, Brady's retirement decision is rooted from multiple factors. Some of those factors include family time with supermodel wife, Gisele Bündchen and his three children. Additionally, Brady has reportedly analyzed the upcoming roster changes that may decrease the team's chances of getting back to a Super Bowl next season.
According Brady's agent, Don Yee, the 44 year old veteran will likely confirm his retirement announcement formally in the short future.
"I understand the advance speculation about Tom's future," Yee said on Saturday's report. "Without getting into the accuracy or inaccuracy of what's being reported, Tom will be the only person to express his plans with complete accuracy. He knows the realities of the football business and planning calendar as well as anybody, so that should be soon."
Brady, when he officially announces retirement himself, will be closing a chapter to a career of seven Super Bowl trophies, the most Vince Lombardi titles by any NFL player in league history, along with give Super Bowl MVP awards. During his 22 seasons of professional football, Brady piled up the most touchdown passes thrown in NFL history with 624, and the most passing yards in league history with over 80,000 yards thrown in his trajectory.
Earlier this week, Brady went on Jim Gray's "Let's go" podcast where he hinted at the fact that he has been thinking about a potential retirement, citing his desire to spend more time with his family at this point of his life.
"It's not always what I want. It's what we want as a family. And I'm going to spend a lot of time with them and figure out in the future what's next." Brady said earlier this week.
